BEEN A WHILE

 I haven't been posting like I should, now that I'm retired I don't go out as much.  I have found some nice things can't believe this weather - detecting in December.    I'm going to have to do a better job on updating the blog.

GOLD AND SILVER WEEKEND

 

 Saturday my friend and I hit the woods and had a very good day with both of us finding silver and lots of wheat pennies.  The we hit some garage sales.

Sunday I went to a park for a couple of hours and found my first gold in quite a while.  It's a very small 14k ring weighing about 1.86 grams.   I usually don't dig 13 on the equinox because it's mostly pull tabs but I'm glad I dug this.

PAST WEEKEND SILVER

 

 

 A friend and I managed to get out into the woods this past weekend where I found a Roosevelt dime, V and buffalo nickel along with a couple of wheat pennies.  Detecting in the woods now is easy since there is no growth yet from weeds and the bugs are at a minimum.  

 We're going to try it again this coming weekend.

I had a chance to get out this past weekend and hit the woods with a friend.  I did manage to find this token but can't find any history on it.   If any one knows what this is - please let me know.

MAGNET FISHING

 Tomorrow is my last day of work then I'm retired for good.  I bought a magnet fishing kit last year and I plan on using it this spring once the weather breaks.  Looking forward to see what goodies I can find.

BACK ON THE BLOG!!!t's

 It's been a while as you know from my last post - my son gave me his old but newer tower to me and I'm just now getting back to blogging.  

I've have been out some but lately the weather has turned back to winter.  Next week is my last work week then I'm retired so I will be getting out a lot more once the weather breaks.  Plus now that I have finally found all my info for the blog.

So I am back and hopefully this year I can put a lot of pictures of my finds.  Happy hunting to all!!

Silver Saturday

 

 

It's been a while since my last post - haven't gone out much because of the weather but I have found a few silver and older pennies.  

I did manage a mercury dime yesterday and an Indian head penny.   The merc is my second silver for the year.  Hopefully after this weekend I can get out more.  I am retired now and work part time so I should be using that time to detect during the week.

 I hope everyone had a very Happy New Year.   It is in central New York because there is no snow and the temps were warm.  Can't ask for anything better for metal detecting.   I did manage a couple of wheat pennies and the usual clad.   But I do live in central NY and the weather is going to get back to winter.

I'M STILL HERE - SILVER AND MORE

 

 It's been a while since my last post, but I'm still getting out and finding some nice coins.  I need to update everything and take some pictures.  Lately I've been on a nickel kick with the wet ground.  The weather is still cooperating and I'll be hitting the woods more now. 

BEEN A WHILE - SILVER AND MORE

 

 It's been a while since I posted - I'm still getting out most weekends and finding some good coins.  I did manage to find my oldest coin ever - a Roman Nero coin dating back to 54 - 68AD.  I found that one in a city park.  I'm still getting some silver and wheat pennies along with the clad.  I will update the coin total soon as I put the coins in a container in my jeep/

GOT SILVER

 

  I managed to find some silver a couple of weeks ago along with a buffalo nickel.   Last weekend I was up north but didn't get a chance to detect since I was with family.   I also found a very small silver ring plus half of a wheat penny.  I need to do a better job of updating the blog.  Finds lately have been far and few in between.  My phone is recharging so I will get pictures later.

 Been a while since I last posted but I haven't found anything to show.  I have been getting out - just this past weekend and I did manage some wheat pennies but not much else.  Now that we have had a ton on rain I hope this will help with digging and deeper targets.

A VERY GOOD WEEKEND - AGAIN

 

 

Yesterday a friend and I hit some woods with a lot of history and we discovered some of it.  We both found silver and some wheat pennies.  We know there are more older coins to be found - hopefully next trip.  I found my second ever Barber quarter.

Last weekend I managed to find some silver along with an 1800's Indian head penny.  I need to update my coin total which I plan on doing this week.

 Saturday I went to a park where I had found silver before and it did not disappoint.  I found a Merc and a Rosie plus a couple of beat up wheat pennies.  

Sunday I went out with a friend and tried a park we both had detected many times - nothing.  Then we hit some woods where he found a silver quarter and barber dime and I found a barber dime.   A 3 silver weekend - I'll take it.

GOT SILVER

 I managed to get out this weekend finally finding some silver on Easter Sunday.   I found a Washington quarter along with some wheat pennies. 

Saturday I went into the woods and found only a penny.   It was a little cool but getting out was nice.
