A MUCH BETTER SUNDAY

I decided to try a school first before I ventured out into the woods.  I wanted to find some coins since I wasn't finding many in the woods.  I had a real good day finding close to 6 bucks and a wheat.   Kind of made up for the past couple of weeks.  Then I hit some woods finding a zinc and wheat penny.  Later in the evening I did a short hunt finding another 35 cents.

VERY SLOW WOOD HUNT

Went back into the woods - found only a dime and I couldn't believe it was a modern one and not silver from the location I found it and another in a small park.  The park had been hunted over finding plugs in the ground.  So the grand total was 20 cents - better than being shut out.

ANOTHER QUICK HUNT

 I went out after work again and tried some woods behind a school.  From the road it looked promising but once I got into the woods - not a lot of area to hunt.  There was a path but deep steep hills on both sides of the path, not much flat land but did manage to find a quarter on the path.

SHORT HUNT AFTER WORK

I hit some woods after work yesterday since I can't go to the schools because of sports practices.  I found a wheat penny right off then not much.  I ended up finding to more pennies - memorials and that's it.  But it was nice to get out during the week - just waiting for the weekend now.

FOUND ONLY 3 COINS BUT...

Today I decided to try some different woods - there is some history with these woods so in I went.  My first find was a wheat penny so that gave me some hope that there could be something more.  Then I found my second large copper of the year 1837 - this really got me pumped up.  My third find was another wheat penny.  The coins were slow in coming then my son called,  I will have to hit this area again hoping to find some silver.  I would like to close the gap between 1837 and 1916 which was my oldest wheat found.  No clad today.

ANOTHER SATURDAY WASTED

The snow and the cold won out today along with taking my daughter to a college fair.  Tomorrow the weather is supposed to warm up so I hope to get out and make up for today. 

SNOWY SUNDAY

I hit a couple of parks today - one was new - probably one of the oldest parks in Syracuse.  I picked up Gopher and tried the older park first.  Wasn't bad at the beginning then mother nature let us know who was boss.  We hunted in a white out about an hour and it got cold.  Not much luck - finding .90 cents and tons of trash.  We then hit a park I hunted before and had found some wheat pennies.  The snow was coming and going and then the ground became wet and muddy.  It was nice when the sun came out but that wasn't for too long.  I found just over 50 cents there.  Only 1 wheat penny found by gopher.  Hope next weekend is warmer.
