VERY SHORT HUNT SUNDAY

I stayed close to home Sunday morning and tried a spot that produced silver and wheat pennies - no luck - I didn't even dig a coin. I found 3 quarters on the surface and that's it.   I couldn't think of another spot to go so I went home and ran errands and shopped.   D will be back this weekend - I hope he has some places to go cause I'm running out of them. Still no word on the city parks.

SATURDAY HUNT

D is still out of town so I went to another spot where I've had luck in the past. I'm hoping to get deeper stuff with the NEL coil. I did find deeper coins but most were clad expect for a couple of wheat pennies. I did find a dollar coin but it was on the surface and a silver ring. Not much else - guess I'm going to have to talk to people - research is good but others do it too.

SUNDAY MORNING

Sunday morning started with a thunder storm so getting out was delayed. Then a co-worker called me to go hunting as his house - he lost power so it was a good time. I've not had good luck hunting houses and the streak stayed alive. Only found a clad dime while my friend found nothing - let him borrow a detector. So after a couple of hours I went to a spot to try the NEL coil and see if I could find anything. Thought for sure it was hunting out being such a small area but I did get a jumpy signal - dug it and it turned out to be an Indian head penny. Found a couple of clad quarters too. So far the NEL coil has been pretty good - hope that streak stays alive.

NEL COIL FINDS SILVER

D is out of town so I went to the spot where he found the 5 merc dimes - I tried my new NEL coil - and my first find was of course - a canadian penny but an old one. Then I got a good reading and found a merc dime. Not sure if the stock coil would have found it. I also managed a wheat penny and a washington quarter. I'm going to hit some other old areas to see what else I can find.

NEL COIL

Got my new NEL coil yesterday - tried it quick in the back yard but will give the test tomorrow. I hope it lives up to all the hype I've read about it.

I met up with D again and we hit some areas that I had suggested. Neither of us lucky - finding only clad - I guess it's back to doing some more research and try and find some new spots. I ordered my NEL coil and it should be here Thursday - can't wait to try it out. I may just go over some old hunting grounds and see if I can find some deep stuff with it.

I met up with D and we went to a location I suggested. Well D had a great day and me just average. D found 5 mercury dimes along with wheat pennies while I found a buffalo nickel and wheats. He has that extra big coil for his e-trac and I think it makes a big difference compared to my AT - Pro. So I'm thinking of getting the Nel coil - hopefully that helps out.
