GOT IN A THURSDAY HUNT

I met T after work and we hunted for a while before he got a call to go back in. Neither of us found silver but we did find wheat pennies. The hunt was short lived but at least we got out during the week.

SUNDAY HUNT

I met up with D and we hunted some areas where he has had some nice finds. The first spot he found a V nickel and we both found some wheat pennies. The next spot he found a mercury dime and me just clad. I talked to my friend T and he has found some nice silver at this spot as well so I will have to try it again.

DAY OFF

No detecting yesterday due to taking my daughter back to college for her second year. Boy am I getting old. It was kind of a wet day anyway - but family first.

THE WEEKEND

Well Saturday was a day off as I went to the bay at my uncle's camp - didn't get a chance to hunt but spent some quality time with the family.
Sunday I met up with D and we hunted the spot where I found the large cent. We both found wheat pennies and clad. D is kind of the the DL as he hurt his back - not fun when you're trying to dig.

FOUND MY OLDEST COIN TO DATE

Did a solo hunt yesterday as D and another friend M had plans for the day. My hunt started slow then I hit a wheat penny - so I was hoping for some silver. Never found it but did manage to find my oldest coin to date - a 1808 large cent. Took my by surprise - wasn't expecting to find that but I'll take it. Found a couple of more wheat pennies and a token.

ONE OFF THE BUCKET LIST

I met up with D and we were off to a slow start.   The hits were slow in coming but I managed 3 wheat pennies right off then we had to move because of a women's softball tourny. We hunted another area and I got some clad. I cleaned my coins and notice I found my first 1909 lincoln wheat - a VDB. Wish the S was there but I'm happy finally getting a 1909.   Then we drove to a different spot - again the hits were slow - but I did manage silver but it took a while. So not a bad Saturday.

VACATION

I've been on vacation the last 3 days - getting out hunting on 2 of them. Not much to write about finding wheat pennies and not much else. Tried several different spots but it seems that everything is drying up. Will have to try and get some new areas to hunt - hopefully we can hunt the city parks - still no word on that.
