I had the day off this past Wednesday and hit the woods. I hunted on several trails and a creek but found nothing but clad. Saw signs of life but could not find anything old. But as they say - a bad detecting is better than a good day at work.

LAST FEW HUNTS
Well last Monday I had the day off and I hit an area I thought had some history to it. I hunted some trails and the woods but only found some clad on a path. Nothing at all in the woods. I know a lot of people go to this site but I was surprised with the lack of noise.
Saturday I went back to where I had my 3 silver day. I did manage to find another silver dime and 10 wheat pennies. I hope we get a good soaking rain, then this place will be easier to dig - ground like a rock.
Yesterday I went to a historical spot and again found clad. Had some good target hits but they ended up being junk.

ROUND 2 - NO SILVER - WHEAT AND CLAD
When a spot is hot you go back and I did but this time not with the same result. I did manage a couple of wheat pennies, 2 junk rings and lots of clad but no silver. I may give it another this weekend. I did find 22 dimes and 8 nickels - one of my better nickel days.

3 SILVER SATURDAY
With the threat of rain looming I got an early start and decided to stay close to home. I picked a good spot finding 3 silver dimes, 6 wheat pennies and tons of clad. The ground was very dry and now that the rain has been falling I hope to get back there and hopefully find some deeper targets. Not a bad hunt for a few hours.

LABOR DAY HUNT
I did a quick early morning hunt on Labor day before the day turned hot. I managed to find 3 wheat pennies and over a dollar in clad. The ground was very dry and hard - did get some rain yesterday but I don't think enough to soften the ground. Will be back at again this weekend - rain and cooler temps in the forecast - looking forward to that.

LAST COUPLE OF HUNTS - 1ST EVER CLASS RING
Last Sunday I went to a spot where I've had found silver before - no such luck that day just clad but over 3 bucks worth so not much to write about.
Yesterday T and I set out to find a special place and hopefully if it was a producing we would camp there in the woods - we did find the spot but it wasn't what we had expected. T had heard of foundations around this area but if they were there - they were on private land or very well hidden. So we traveled and hit spots along the way. I did manage to find my first ever class ring. I think it 10K - will have to clean it up better to find out. After that a token, clad and maybe 1 wheat penny - not sure it's pretty toasty. UPDATE - class ring is 10k gold plated !!!!

WHEN YOUR HOT YOU'RE HOT
They say to keep going to the spots that are giving up the good stuff. Well I went back to my "spot" where I found my 1800's barber dime - and I had another good day. No 1800's coins but 2 more silver one's - a mercury dime and a standing liberty quarter. I wasn't sure what the quarter was - with a lot of the older coins I've been finding, I has hoping it was my first barber quarter - not quite - missed it by one year. Oh well I'll still take the SLQ. No clad on this hunt - not many coins found but they were all older.
