Small hunt Friday Morning

Well I give it a quick try Friday morning before work. I went to the woods by the Erie canal which is close to my home. The is a stream that runs by the canal so I took my white's detector, hunted about 2 hours and found - nails, pull tabs since people party there and a lot of junk. Found nothing of value but it was nice to get out. There will be more days ahead and I'm looking forward to seeing what treasures await me.

As the weather starts to warm up and the snow is starting to melt and with rain coming this weekend - I should be able to get out next week and enjoy a new but wet start to the metal detecting season. I did a lot of research on the down time so I am looking forward to hunt the places I've have studied and advice from friends. I hope to beat last years take on finding over $55 in clad - several silver rings - 7 wheat pennies and a silver quarter. NO fishing license for me this year - weekends I'll be on the hunt.

First of the years findings.

This is my first day of hunting this year. Did find some clad and a ring to start the new year.Only could go out 3 days in January. February was a wash. Good old central NY winters allowed me that much time.  Just waiting for the snow to melt to get back out and swing the detector again.
