LAST FEW FINDS
I've been out - a couple of lunch hunts and some evenings. I did manage wheat penny #77 in rough shape. I met up with L last night and hit the park I thought no one hunted but a guy(who hunted this park) stopped by and thought I was his friend who he detects with - go figure - 2 more hunters. He has found a lot of silver coins and travels and confirmed my suspicion about finding silver on the sidewalk project last year that I drove by but never stopped to ask. Why didn't I stop??? Never again. Anyway the last few hunts have netted just under 2 bucks.

FOUND WHEATS 74 - 76 AND SOME SILVER POT
Saturday morning I hit the school where L lives - had a good day clad wise after two hunts finding over 4 bucks in clad and a wheat penny #74 tying me with last years total.
Sunday I hit a park that hasn't been used in a while or detected. A home owner came out to talk to me and said he has lived across the park since 1963 and never has seen anyone hunt the park. It must be true because the coins I was finding were deep - at least 4-5" down and deeper. I did manage 2 wheat pennies breaking last years record and over a buck in clad. I plan to go back since there is a lot of ground to cover and hopefully there is some silver. Speaking of silver - I did find an unusual ring - .925 silver with a pot leaf on it. A ring is a ring and silver is silver.

WHEAT PENNY #73 - RING #10
The coins are down the last few hunts but I did manage to find wheat penny #73 - one less than all of last year and junk ring #10 and 2 game tokens. My total clad was under 2 bills. With the rain yesterday hopefully the ground is a little softer - digging was getting to be no fun. I plan to hit some areas I hope lead to some older coins - time will tell.

LAST FEW HUNTS
I started the fourth holiday with a hunt at a school in L's neck of the woods. Did okay finding well over 2 bucks in clad - 2 wheat pennies and a Susan B. dollar. Had party at the in-laws then met L at a park on the hill. Didn't find much there about 22 cents. I had my usual lunch hunt yesterday finding only 21 cents and no wheat pennies - breaks my streak. Overall found over 3 bills. I did have my best nickel count in a while finding 7 total.

WEEKEND HUNTS
Saturday morning I started out at the beach - again not a lot just 99 cents in clad. Then I hit a new park - much ground to cover but only found some clad. There is a school on the same road coming home so I hit that and again found just clad. Ended the day with about 2 bucks.
Sunday I went North to a new park - hit 2 schools and another park. Found around 2 bucks again - no old coins even though one of the parks looked promising. This evening I went back to the school I hit Sat. and finally found a wheat penny #70 and over 2 bucks in clad better than I did all day Sat and 4 areas Sun morning. I keep going farther away from home to try and find new spots to hunt - hope it leads to some good finds.
