BACK AGAIN THIS TIME WHEAT PENNIES

I went back to the hot spot hoping to get some more silver - not this time but I did find some wheat pennies.  It's been a very good year for wheat pennies finding over 230 this year.  With spots getting harder to find and hunted to death I'm really lucky to have found so many.  Now I can't wait to get into the woods and see what goodies I can find there.

HOT SPOT STILL GIVING UP SILVER

I tried a section of the erie canal but will wait till fall to let the growth go away so I went to my hot spot.  Managed to find some wheat pennies and my first standing liberty quarter this year - no date.  This place is a silver mine - still finding it although it's getting harder now but it's still there.  One of my best places to hunt.

SILVER SUNDAY

I met up with D and we hit a new part of the park we have hunted before.  Looked very promising but wasn't what we thought although  D found a SLQ with a year - 1926.  It was hard finding any coins.  So we hit the park - nothing so I suggested we try school down the road - lots of clad but I did find a Rosie - my first old coin and silver there plus some wheats.  Then we hit an old church where we both found wheat pennies.  So we both ended up with silver for the day.

SHORT SATURDAY HUNT

I managed to do a short hunt after my son's football game - back to the hot spot hoping to get some silver.  None today but did find some wheat pennies and clad.  Planning a better and longer hunt tomorrow. 

QUICK SUNDAY HUNT

D gave me a call Sunday morning - met him at the park where I found a Rosie - it was a short hunt because I had to go visit my daughter at college.  I didn't find much  - just the usual clad while D found wheat pennies.  At least I got out for the weekend but nothing really to write about. Hopefully I have better luck this weekend - but Saturday will be a short day as my son plays football on the road and not sure of daughter schedule yet.  Will have to wait and see.  No old coins this weekend.

QUARTERS AND DIMES

 I met my friend T at a park where he did some research - the park used to be the high school football field back in the day.  We were trying to find the sidelines and where the bleachers would have been.  I managed to find clad - quarters and dimes - T found a war nickel and a wheat penny.  He thinks the findings are where the bleachers were.  We didn't find much else.  He will go back and try to check the area again.  I found over 3 bucks in change.

QUICK HUNT AFTER WORK

I met up with J after work at my hot spot.  The ground was very wet and very light rain on and off.  I did manage to find a few wheat pennies and clad quarter but not much else.  Hopefully I have better luck today - just not sure where to hunt.   Will post pennies as soon as I clean them.
