Friday lunch hunt

Days are getting shorter and the lunch hunts are the same. I did manage to find 80 cents yesterday.  My take was 2-q, 2-d, 1-n and 5 pennies - the oldest a 1959. Haven't found a wheat at work in a while but I'm still hopeful.

Couple of short hunts

The weather has been a lot cooler with the threat of rain so I've only been able to do some real short hunts.  One was to my favorite park where I found 6 rings and the other a lunch hunt.  Neither yielded much - only a total of 72 cents  - 1-q,3-d, 2-n and 7 pennies.  Hopefully the weekend will be this cool and I will have to get out and try again.

Kennedy Half Dollar

History: Kennedy Silver Half DollarGilroy Roberts was the former chief engraver for the Mint and designed the obverse for this coin. His stylized initials are on the truncation of the bust. The reverse has the presidential Coat of Arms  was done by engraver Frank Gasparro.
A few pieces dated 1971D and 1977D were struck in silver clad by mistake. From 1965 to 1970 the Kennedy half dollar became a clad coin with the outer layers made of .800 silver, .200 copper bonded to an inner core of .210 silver and .790 copper.  I have found one of these so far.

Another good day

I hit a new park and found a lot of clad. Nothing old - wanted to stay longer but my trowel broke (ground is like concrete) so I had to come home.  I bought another one then went to the local high school and found some more clad. I ended up with over $5 and 46 coins.

Best day with IDX Pro

Well today I had my best clad and total day finding 80 coins for over $8.  I also found my 3rd president dollar and wheat penny #41. I hope I can keep this going for tomorrow - just need to find places to hunt.
