BACK TO REALITY

Well the last couple of days the weather turned warmer and the snow was melting.  I had a few spots in mind to try and get a hunt in.  But I live in central NY - and yes the snow and cold has returned.  40+ mph winds, lake effect will put me back again. I thought I could have my first hunt in February but now I have to wait for the next thaw.

WARMER WEATHER

The next couple of days the weather is supposed to warm up - so hopefully a lot of the snow will melt.  I hope to try and get a day or two of hunting next week at work.  As usual the central NY weather will get cold again after the warm up but not too cold - still above average temps.  Will have to wait and see.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Happy Valentines Day

Well it's valentine's day and a very warm day for February.  It's going to get cold tonight then the rest of the week - our late January thaw.  Hopefully it melts enough snow to try a hunt this weekend.  I would like to test the Delta since I had it repaired and see what it does.   I have yet to hunt in February so time will tell.

TIP OF THE WEEK - GETTING PERMISSION TO HUNT

One way you may gain permission to search private property without asking, is - go to your local police station and volunteer your detecting services to the community to help find lost jewelry, wedding rings, etc.  One of my son's friend's is a policeman and I let him know that I am available anytime.   The police have seen me hunt and should be more friendly when they "see you" especially when you have offered to help them better serve the community.  I've have yet to have a problem.  To find things for people, free of charge,  you may be offered rewards and given permission to search entire yards, in return for my small effort.  I  hunt at the local town hall park/playground where I have found many rings and coins and also may be helping a co-worker whose husband lost his wedding ring.
