Prizm II detector

This is the Prizm II detector by White's.  White's has a very good reputation for responding to any problem that you may have. I had a question and e-mailed the company and received a response the next day.
This detector is the low end of the Prizm's starting price between $200 and $250. It is a very good starter detector which is what I was doing. Now that I have become hooked on detecting I plan to upgrade to better detector which will be a White's. This detector is light weight about 2 pounds,  target ID display, pinpoint in all metal mode along with an 8" search coil. Pinpointing is a great feature because once you find a target, you can place the coil over the target and the sound will change to let you know that you are over the target. Other detectors have to be moving to hear the target - with the Prizm's pinpointer - you don't need to keep moving the coil. The ID display lets you see what type of metal you have found. It is quite accurate. It may miss depending on the size of the target but it usually right on. I would recommend this detector to someone who is just starting out.

Good day

I'm glad I took the day off. The weather was great and hunting was fabulous. First I tried to go to Pratts Falls, but it was closed. So I went to the north side of Syracuse with another hunter to some ball fields. The hunt started a little slow then we discovered more ball fields off in the distance. These fields yielded some nice clad. I had a total of $4.29 and I think my friend got close to $5.00. We both had very good quarter counts. So far this is the best total of the year. Still have the weekend so we hope to hunt some more.

Tot lot hunt

Went to a tot lot this morning and came away with some clad - a dollar coin, silver ring and kiddie jewelry. The weather is finally starting to get nice so I'm going to take advantage of it - any chance I get to hunt. Also found a shell casing - disturbing for a kid's park.

Finally got out

I finally took advantage of the weather and did some hunting today. I went to a couple of locations - finding a junk ring at my first stop and my first wheat penny of the year - 1949.  I did manage to find a total of $2.46 cents - 25 total coins.  The weather is supposed to be in the 50's all week so I hope by next weekend things should be dry and no more snow.
