Went hunting at one of my favorites parks today with the warm temps. Didn't much in coins but did find 2 wheat pennies - 1930 and 1944. I was hoping to find silver but no luck. I used the delta - seemed to work fine just need to get use to it. Four wheat pennies so far - way ahead of last year.
Tried the delta in the backyard since it wasn't real cold - hunted by the close line and found 2 cents - memorial pennies. I still need to test the delta - seemed to be reading alright but I need to try it in some warmer weather.
Check out your local sidewalk construction sites. I've read a few forums where hunters found many old coins digging on these sites. I had an opportunity last year but didn't take advantage of it. I also saw some construction sites where they were digging and tearing down old houses. If I see any this year I will make it a point to ask if I can hunt - hopefully they will let me.
It's the last day of February and it's raining. I hope it melts a lot of the snow - the week is not supposed to be bad so by the weekend I may be able to get out and hunt . One hunt for the month - still need to try out the delta at a different place to really give it a test.
