I've been trying out my new machine and so far had some good luck. I need to get the sensitivity right - only on 5 which doesn't detect deep because I get a lot of interference when I go higher - must be the power cables. Anyway so far not bad. I did manage to find wheat penny #50 - 1952, my first ring in a while #28 and some religious items. I had a buck 79 in clad. 7-q and 4 pennies - 11 coins. This puts me over the $200 mark.

I did manage to find a spot to try the new detector but I was getting eaten alive. I did find a quarter and I need to get the settings down and the pinpointing. I will give it another go today.

New Detector
Well my new detector finally arrived. Now I need to try it out and see how it does. Got called to work early this morning so I didn't get a chance to use it - so I will have to try and find an area with no activities going on.

Short hunt in park
Did an hour hunt in the same park - didn't find much but found another wheat penny - 1947. I know there must be silver - I have found silver where ever I have wheats so I hope it holds true.

Standing Liberty Quarter
History: These quarters were made between 1916 and 1930. It was designed by Hermon A. Macneil. The left arm of Liberty is upraised and bearing a shield in the attitude of protection. The right hand bears the olive branch of peace. The designer's initial M is located above and to the right of the date.
In 1925 a depression was made in the pedestal on which Liberty stands and which bears the date.
The most valuable of the series
is a 1916 or an 1919s( 8 over 7). The mint mark is left of the date. Still looking for my first.

Park hunt
Went to a park that I've hunted before. I always went by the tot lot area but today I wanted to try something different. I think the park is old being in the city and my hunch was right. I manage to find 2 wheat pennies - 1920 and 1927 and some clad. I was hoping to find silver but maybe next trip. I will also have to try the lot. My take today was 6-q, 3- d and 8 pennies for a total of a buck 88. 17 coins. Also found a chuck E cheese token.

New detector on the way
I purchased a new detector and it should arrive by the end of the week. It is the one in my picture for the blog. I have read really good reviews on this detector and am looking forward to trying it out. It's a Teknetics Delta 4000.
