THE PAST FEW HUNTS II

I've been getting out at lunch time while I can.  It's getting darker earlier and earlier so that will be coming to and end soon.  I did manage a morning hunt  and plan to do more since it will be the only time of day I can get out until the weekend.   My take for the hunts was over close to three bucks.

THE PAST FEW HUNTS

It starts with a lunch hunt on Friday - still lucky to find coins 83 cents worth.   Saturday I had a late start due to my son's mandatory sports meeting which lasted most of the morning.  I went to a spot where I've had luck before but not this day.  Only found pennies but 2 of them were wheat.  7 cents was the net.   A woman came up to me who metal detects - she is her 70's and she says she loves the hobby. She has found some nice coins - a half dime and older coins in her yard.  Funny who you run into these days.
I started Sunday at my new favorite school with a very wet ground.  No silver today except for a ring that was sterling + 14K and a bracelet( not sure if it's junk - only marking was a P).  People started to show up so I left.  I then hit another school this evening where I found 2 more wheat pennies and my second Kennedy half dollar.  My total for the day was over 3 bucks.

Sept. 11 marked with new memorials to the dead

Nation pauses to remember on 10th anniversary of attacks

Determined never to forget but perhaps ready to move on, the nation gently handed Sept. 11 over to history Sunday and etched its memory on a new generation. A stark memorial took its place where twin towers once stood, and the names of the lost resounded from children too young to remember terror from a decade ago.
