NOTHING CHANGED

Same old story >:P - cold weather 8{ and snow.  Still doing some research :S but even that gets a little tiresome too |-).  The weather may be warming up by next week, but there is still a lot of snow and no telling how hard the ground is >{.  But when the time comes to get out and hunt, I should have a few places to try O0.

TIP OF THE WEEK - CLEANING PENNIES

Here's one way to restore dug Lincolns and Indians pennies.  After cleaning off the dirt, put a drop of Tabasco Sauce on the penny.  After about 5-10 seconds wipe off - shiny as new. There's some sort of chemical reaction that the copper reacts to the pepper sauce. Caution! If you have a penny you believe is very valuable "DON'T" do this - its better left uncleaned.

STEELERS GO DOWN - MORE RESEARCH

Well I watched my Steelers go down in the super bowl last night >{ :'(, so now I can really concentrate on more research. Again the weather is going to colder midweek so and with the new snow fall it will be awhile before anybody around here gets out >:/.  I getting anxious to get out but I know all I can do is research for now.

Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early spring

John Griffiths AP – Punxsutawney Phil, the weather predicting groundhog, stands on the shoulder of one of his handlers John

Well let's hope the rodent is right.  I would like to get out as soon as possible.  Don't mind doing research but I miss swinging the detector and finding all that loot.

WINTER STORM

Another winter storm approaching >{ >{, can't seem to get out of this pattern.  Only 3 days of hunting in Jan. and it's not looking good for Feb. anytime soon >:\.   I hope there is a thaw but I'm not counting on it and I hope the rodent doesn't see his shadow tomorrow so spring can come early and I can start swinging the detector again O0.

TIP FOR THE WEEK - DIG NOTPROMISING TARGETS

When metal detecting old sites that have been hunted over and over again, go back over the site in all metal mode. You would be surprised what your detector discriminates out.  I found my SLQ going back over a site I know I have hunted countless times along with other hunters.  I was surprised to find it where I did.
