LUNCH AND PARK HUNT

Went to a new park on the East side - not sure how old it is - but will have to get there more often.  It has two ball fields and a football field along with a tot lot.  Found 80 cents and a silver religious medal.  Did the usual lunch hunt finding 49 cents  - 15 coins.

LUNCH HUNT

Got to hunt on the side I wanted since nothing was going on there.  Did net 76 cents.  My co-worker is getting better with the Delta - I don't have to help pinpoint as much anymore.  Another hunter in the making.

TIP OF THE WEEK - COMMUNICATION

Communication is priceless.  I talk to people whenever I can when I'm at a park or a school, work and my fellow detectorist.   I usually find out about other detectorists that hunted before me  - if the ground has been resurfaced, how old the property is, etc.   I got a tip yesterday of an old school in which I found a couple of wheat pennies. Communicating helps you find more places to search and should increase your quality & quantity of finds.

SCHOOL DAYS

Went to a few schools today - 2 new - 2 old.  Found 2 wheat pennies 1937 and 1952 and had my best day coin count and total cash of the year.   The cash total was $6.38 - 50 coins - 52 total.  I was hoping the city schools would produce some silver but found the wheats instead.

TRIED THE WOODS

Went to a friend's house in the country  - he had a couple of spots to hunt so I let him use my Delta.  The first area was behind his house getting there by 4 wheeler - nice location but no coins.  The second was next to a cemetery with head stones dating back to the early 1800's.  Again nothing so after a few hours he went home and I tried the wooded area where I found the silver quarter.  No silver but did find 2 wheat pennies 1942 and 42-d  - a quarter and 2 pennies.  I would like to get back to this wooded area - there is so much more ground to cover plus the park.  27 cents - 3 coins  - 5 total.

PARK AND LUNCH HUNT

I tried the park one more time to hopefully find some more silver but no luck. I did get some clad a buck 47, a canadian dime and old bus token.  15 coins - 16 total.   Then at lunch time I couldn't hunt the area I wanted again because of a softball game, so I had to hunt another area.  I found a buck 19 and a canadian penny.   I don't know what's up with all the canadian coins but I seemed to be attracted to them.  11 coins - 12 total - $2.66 - 26 coins - 28 overall.

LUNCH AND ERIE CANAL HUNT

                        The Erie Canal  - looks promising but still haven't found anything

I went back to the Erie canal to try a spot next to the park where there is a path through the woods.  I managed to find only 3 memorial pennies and a game token.  I thought it would be a good place but no luck.  My lunch hunt was much better - I found wheat penny - 1942 -  number 15 and 75 cents.  I wanted to hunt another area but it was being used - so I can't complain finding the wheat.  My overall take was 78 cents - 9 coins 10 total.
