STAYED WITH THE WOODS

I kept up the woods hunting on Sunday - didn't find coins like last week but did manage some.  No old coins but did get a Kennedy half dollar.  The weeds are starting to grow and the bugs are making their guest appearance.  I figure only a couple of more weeks then it's back to schools and parks.

I met up with L and we hit the woods where I found my last large cent.  No big coins today but did manage to find a couple of wheat pennies. Also found a key.  L found some square nails and no coins.  We then decided to hit a park - I found another wheat penny, 24 cents and 2 canadian pennies - L was not so lucky.  Hope to get out again tomorrow - the weather is going to be cooler after Sunday.

A MUCH BETTER SUNDAY

I decided to try a school first before I ventured out into the woods.  I wanted to find some coins since I wasn't finding many in the woods.  I had a real good day finding close to 6 bucks and a wheat.   Kind of made up for the past couple of weeks.  Then I hit some woods finding a zinc and wheat penny.  Later in the evening I did a short hunt finding another 35 cents.

VERY SLOW WOOD HUNT

Went back into the woods - found only a dime and I couldn't believe it was a modern one and not silver from the location I found it and another in a small park.  The park had been hunted over finding plugs in the ground.  So the grand total was 20 cents - better than being shut out.

ANOTHER QUICK HUNT

 I went out after work again and tried some woods behind a school.  From the road it looked promising but once I got into the woods - not a lot of area to hunt.  There was a path but deep steep hills on both sides of the path, not much flat land but did manage to find a quarter on the path.

SHORT HUNT AFTER WORK

I hit some woods after work yesterday since I can't go to the schools because of sports practices.  I found a wheat penny right off then not much.  I ended up finding to more pennies - memorials and that's it.  But it was nice to get out during the week - just waiting for the weekend now.

FOUND ONLY 3 COINS BUT...

Today I decided to try some different woods - there is some history with these woods so in I went.  My first find was a wheat penny so that gave me some hope that there could be something more.  Then I found my second large copper of the year 1837 - this really got me pumped up.  My third find was another wheat penny.  The coins were slow in coming then my son called,  I will have to hit this area again hoping to find some silver.  I would like to close the gap between 1837 and 1916 which was my oldest wheat found.  No clad today.
