MORNING AND AFTERNOON HUNTS

Tried a new spot that someone told me had some history to it.  Didn't find much but clad, a dog tag and a key.  I then hit a school down the road and found a couple of wheat pennies and clad for a total of over a buck 50.   The sun had come out - finally - so I quit and decided to mow the hay field - I mean lawn since I hadn't done it yet.

After mowing the lawn I went back to the school where I found the wheat pennies and silver quarter.  I found plenty of pennies today - none of them wheat but did find another silver coin - a 1943 mercury dime.  Plus I found over 3 bucks in clad and a flat button. L met me there and she found .40 cents - she also explores looking for rocks but finding the coins was cool.   So overall not a bad Saturday.

MUCH BETTER SUNDAY

Got printer working - more pics later

I hit one of my old schools and finally found some silver - coin and ring.   Also found 7 wheat pennies and over $2.80 in clad.  My printer is down so I can't get pictures I hope to get it fixed soon.  I met a couple who were trying their Ace 250.  They said they had just started the hobby and plan on doing more hunting.

A SLOW DAY

Most of my Saturday morning was spent taking my daughter to a college open house.  I did manage a quick afternoon hunt at a park.  Didn't find much - have hit it a lot - found just over .40 cents.  Hope to do better today if I can get out.  Printer is malfunctioning - may not have pictures for a while.

SUNDAY MORNING HUNT

 

 

I went back to the area where I found the civil war token but didn't cross the creek this time.  I stayed along the path and hit the woods hoping to find some old coins but only found clad.  Can't believe what kids lose.  My total was over a buck 60 - I'm going to have to wait until fall or next spring since the growth was higher than I thought - hard to swing that detector.   No old coins this weekend.

SHORT HUNT BEFORE THE RAIN

I went back to the school I hit last week and did a quick hunt before the rains came.  Didn't find anything old but managed over a buck in clad.  Only hunted just over an hour then quit,  when I got home it started to rain so I guess I did the right thing.  I hope I can get out today but it's overcast and who knows how long the rain will hold off.
