SUNDAY HUNT

Happy 4th of July

I did manage a short hunt on Sunday - went to a new school for me - the school looked new - still I tried it and found only 56 cents.  I covered lots of ground but very few hits.  Also it was hot and the ground is very dry so I may not be detecting as deep as I like.  But I got out.

FIRST BEACH HUNT OF THE YEAR

With all the hot weather we've been having I decided to hit a beach early in the morning.  I haven't done well at this beach but I wanted to try the DFX in beach mode.  I managed to find just over a buck in change - no jewelry and a surprise wheat penny in a grass area.  I may go back just to hit the grass and see what else I can find.

TRIED A NEW PARK

It's getting to the point where I need to travel to find new hunting grounds.  I hit a park about a half hour away that seemed like it would be a good spot. When I saw the park everything was new - the benches, backstop and even the swings.  It's in the middle of no where which is why I went there.  Only managed to find clad and another Canadian penny - I go through streaks.   I thought I found my first gold ring but it turned out to be junk.  It hit around 23 on the detector but no such luck.  Guess I will have to keep searching - for both a gold ring and good place to hunt.

SATURDAY SCHOOL HUNT

Well I went back to the school where I've found lots and wheats and silver.  Today nothing but clad and more than the last few hunts.  My oldest coin was a Canadian penny.  The ground is really dry and the detector doesn't seem to be going deep.   The white's loves the wet ground.  But I need to find some new places and try to get some older coins.

QUICK HUNT IN A PARK

Tuesday a friend of mine was working in town and called me to meet him at a park where he had luck finding silver.  The park looked different to him since he had not been there for over 10 years - he wasn't sure if it was the right one but we tried it anyway.   It was quite humid and late in the day so we didn't stay long.  He found some pennies I found a dime and Canadian penny.  We crossed this park off our list.
