THURSDAY HUNT

Still on vacation I went to a park I haven't hunted in a while but had luck in the past. No silver but did manage several wheat pennies. The ground is really starting to get hard - need a good soaking rain. Again I find a canadian coin - this time a quarter. Hunted for a couple of hours - felt good to hunt during the week.

ROAD TRIP

Well I'm on vacation and after doing some work around the house Tuesday I took a road trip and headed east. I found some parks - 2 I could hit again and one - forget it although all the parks had promise dating back to the late teens and 20's. I managed 2 wheat pennies and over a buck in clad. Still found canadian pennies - no matter where I go I always find some.

SUNDAY - CLAD KIND OF DAY

D and I hit the same spots as Saturday but not with the same results. He ended up with 2 wheat pennies and me just 1. Clad was the theme and the ground was much dryer than before. Lets hope it rains some before the weekend - and then finding a spot is always on the list. It's great to find more quarters than pennies.

BUFFALO, WHEATS, RINGS AND CLAD

too many pennies

Met D this morning and we hit a city school. We both need to get smaller coils - there was tons of junk but we managed to find wheat pennies and lots of clad. I also found a silver ring and junk one and a buffalo nickel.
We then went to a park down the road. Again tons of junk but this time D found a mercury dime and we both found wheat pennies and lots of clad. We still know there is still lots to be found but it would be easier with a smaller coil. This is my best coin total in quite a while.

MORE WHEAT PENNIES AND CLAD

I met up with J and we hit an area where I've had luck in the past and haven't hunted in a while. I found a couple of wheat pennies and J found a buffalo nickel but that was it. The finds were deep and ground is starting to get hard - I think it thru off our readings. We both had problems pin pointing and getting a read on the target. J couldn't even use his headphones. Hopefully it was just the area. Not too bad of a clad day.
