HUNT IN THE PARK

I met up with D and we hit a park that he has had luck in finding silver.  The only silver was a ring D found and he also found a V and buffalo nickels.  D is on a nickel roll.  We both managed wheat pennies.  I'm still trying my new 12" super coil - not sure what to think yet - need some more time with it. 

NEW COIL ARRIVED

Got my new 12" white's super coil and gave it a quick test yesterday.   I went to where I found my large cents - found clad but I do like the coil.  I can cover more ground and it's light.  I'll be using the V3X more now and see what I can dig up.

A NICKEL KIND OF DAY

I met up with D and we hit a spot where I found my first 1909 wheat penny.  Neither of us have found anything but wheat pennies but yesterday it was nickel day.  D found 4 buffalo, a V and war nickels while I found 2 buffalo, an Indian penny and we both found wheats.  We still think there is silver there - the coins are deep - at least 6" down so maybe next time.  The ground is really moist so the reason for some of the toasty coins.

ANOTHER LARGE CENT

Went back to the spot where I found my oldest large cent and another.  Found my 3rd one yesterday - still hoping there is some old silver there - did find that 1910 canadian dime so I'm hoping there is more.  A short hunt, had to go and see me daughter at college.   Can't wait to get my 12" super coil - will have to try it there.   This one was only about 3" down.

NEW COIL ON THE WAY

Bought a 12' super coil for the V3X.  Should come early next week.  I see how D and others are finding coins much deeper with the bigger coil.  Hopefully I can do the same.

I was solo on Sunday,  D was having car problems so I went back to on old spot.  Managed to find clad and a very worn V nickel.  It was a nice day so I cut my hunt short then came home and worked around the house.
