FIRST SILVER OF THE YEAR - HAPPY EASTER

I went back to the same spot as Friday - still trying to get use to the 15 inch coil  - and I found my first silver coin of the year.  A 1939 mercury dime about 6 inches down and clad.  I'm learning that I need to swing the detector closer to my body - can't extend my arms.   Also wish everyone a very Happy Easter.

ON THE SCORE BOARD

Well I finally found my first coins of the 2015 season.  I didn't find a lot but it was nice to get out there and swing the detector.  I now have the 15 inch coil for my AT-PRO so I will be hitting some of the old stomping grounds to see how well it works.  Now of course the weather is back to the cold and damp days but I may venture out anyway.  My haul from yesterday was some clad and 3 wheat pennies.  The printer is down - will try and get pictures later

NEW COIL ARRIVED TODAY

Finally after some problems my new 15 inch coil arrived today.   I gave it a quick try this morning - have to get use to it.   Will be out and about trying areas I've had some luck finding silver and hopefully find some deeper coins.

GAVE IT A SHOT

The weather wasn't the best but better than it had been in a while.  I went to a couple of spots but they were still buried under snow.   There are going to be some warm days this week so hopefully the snow will melt some.  Still waiting on my coil - should be the next day or  2 before it arrives.

15 INCH COIL FOR AT - PRO

Well I broke down and bought a 15 inch coil for my AT - PRO.   Should arrive by Friday.  I see how D was finding deeper and had better readings with his 15 inch coil on his e-trac.  I hope I can compete with him now and start finding some deeper targets.  I'm also waiting for a "sale" of the new Garrett waterproof pin pointer.   I hope to get in the water this year and the new pin pointer will be a plus.  Now the weather has to cooperate and warm up.

WAITING

The weather has been getting better but there is still a lot of snow on the ground.   Plus I don't know how frozen the ground is so it's still a waiting game.   Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I can venture out and give it a try.

SNOW AND COLD

Well January was not a bad month - not a lot of snow and did not get a thaw.  You could still see some grass in spots - then February came.    The snow and cold just keeps coming in waves.  We are under another storm warning along with more frigid temperatures.  I was hoping to get out soon but it looks like it will be a while.  Good time to be indoors and do some research.  I guess buying a snow blower is paying off now.
