HAPPY FATHERS DAY

First a happy fathers day - hope all the dads have a good day, second yesterday again was an all clad day. I hit a park where I found a silver dime a couple of years ago - again looks promising but did not deliver.   I then went to a school where I've had luck but again - nothing. It's getting harder to find spots - I may need to start knocking on doors.

MOSTLY A CLAD DAY

I went to one of my old spots - wanted to try the 15" coil to see if I could find some deeper coins - I did but they were all clad.   I did find a silver ring - beat up though as it were hit by the lawn mower.   I moved to a different location - I managed to find 2 wheat pennies there along with the usual clad. It got hot so I quit by noon. I'm hoping to try the gold panning soon. Still trying to find spots.

SILVER SATURDAY AND FILM DEBUT

THE ONE FINDING THE COIN THE FILE IS TOO BIG TOO SHOW

I hit a park that I've hit before with D and T. They have both found barber dimes there and yesterday was my turn as I found my first silver there - a barber dime along with 3 wheat pennies and clad.. I brought my handcam and tried to film some. Well I know I won't be winning any academy awards soon but it's not as easy as it seems - plus the sun does make it hard to see the screen. Of course glasses would help too - boy getting old sucks.

SUNDAY

I went back to the place where K's daughter found that seated half dollar. Me no such luck - just a wheat penny and little clad. The little soccer players were having games plus it was getting hot so I called it a day.
I'm hopefully going to be trying something new - gold panning. I had my pans with me and I hit a creek just to get the feel of panning. I plan on making a trip soon to Vermont of Pa to give it a try. Of course in NY you can't keep the gold you find so it's go out of state.

A NEW PARK AND SCHOOL HUNT

I went to a new park to me in a small town hoping to find some goodies. Only found 1 wheat penny but lots of clad - mainly quarters. Not sure how old this park is but looked like it had potential. I then went to the school and found more clad. I then went to the spot of my last dime trifecta and found 4 wheat pennies and a king george canadian penny.   Very good clad day finding over 4 bucks in change and 3 canadian pennies.

WEEKEND CUT SHORT BY RAIN

Saturday I tried a new spot - has some history to it but ended up finding very little clad.   I will have to go back in the fall since a lot of the area was over grown. I then hit a park where I've had some luck but only found a few pennies. The ground was hard and it was getting hot quickly.
Sunday was a complete wash out with rain but it should help loosen the ground.   There's always next week.

QUIET WEEKEND

Not much to write about this past weekend. Saturday I went to my old hot spot which has cooled off quite a bit. Only some clad coins and plenty of pull tabs. I did find a button - the grass was kind of high so I may go back on more time when it's cut.
Sunday I went back to my latest dime trifecta spot and again clad. I wasn't finding much so I went to a nearby school - built in the 30's but only found clad. I may get out today.
