LAST TUESDAY'S FIND
I had to wait until I could clean the coin better but I might have made it worse. It's a 1867 Indian head penny - my third 1800's Indian this year. I hope I can get some silver around that time frame - seated!!!

AN INTERESTING WEEKEND
Saturday morning the rain was coming so I decided to hit someplace close. When I arrived I saw another hunter whom I met before we talked a bit and detected but the rains came and that flash of lightning so we got out of there. After the rain quit we met back and detected some more. D found nothing and I found an Indian - my second 1800's coin for the year.
Sunday morning I went back to the spot - hunted a while and then found this small round object. This object turned out to be a three cent coin - my first ever. Wow, this coin is small - it's in bad shape but I'll take it - just wish there was a way to clean it. That's one of the bucket list. Not sure of the year yet.

A SLOW WEEKEND
Didn't find much this past weekend - not detecting on Saturday and only finding a wheat penny and penny on Sunday. We got needed rain on Sunday but I still managed to hunt in the woods - Saturday was an errand day.

BACK TO THE WOODS - SILVER
Happy Memorial day.
The weather was going to be hot so I got out early Saturday and hit a school where I've found silver before. Didn't find any but did find a beat up wheat penny, a ring and not much else. I did find over a buck in clad.
Sunday I decided to give the woods one more try and glad I did. I found another barber dime along with 5 clad pennies. I've had good luck in these woods - mostly on the beaten path - nothing really in the woods themselves except for bullets, casings.
Today my sister-in-law is having us over for Memorial day. I plan to hunt her yard again - the first time finding 2 wheat pennies including a 1909. Hope I can get some silver.

WOODS YIELDS ANOTHER SILVER
Well they say to keep hunting a place that produces and this spot is. Another silver coin - this time a quarter - my first for the year along with a couple of wheat pennies and a button. But I think I'm going to have to leave this area as the growth is starting to really fill in. This will definitely be a fall hunt for sure.
