CLAD THE MAIN TOPIC AGAIN.

Another weekend gone by and another post about - clad.  Saturday I got a late start because of the rain, didn't travel far from home because of the threat of rain - went to a school and found some clad before the little league decided to pay a visit.
Sunday I went up to T's neck of the woods - again only finding clad.  At least I'm getting out but I need to get some new spots to hunt - I wish the rain would happen during the week so I could get out more on the weekend.

WET, WET WEEKEND

For the first time in a long time I didn't get out to swing the detector.  The weather man had the fore cast all wrong.  The rain started early Saturday morning and didn't stop until Monday.  The only good this is the ground is nice for digging.  Hopefully this weekend is much better.

ANOTHER WEEKEND WITH NOT MUCH TO TELL

I doing good in the clad department but not much else to write about.  I traveled Saturday to a couple of spots where I've had luck in the past but only clad, a junk ring and button.   I also hit a new spot in the woods where some foundations are and found nothing.
Sunday I met up with J and we hit a park and school.  The park was just clad and at the school I got a wheat penny and earring. I did have a good dime weekend finding 20.    But I got out so that's the best part.

NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT

Well this past Friday and weekend - I did get out but found nothing to write home about.  I didn't stay out long but I did manage to find clad where I hunted.  I tried some areas with history but to no avail.  Now it's back to work this week - ugh.  Next time I take a vacation I hope I have better plans but I did get a nice rest.

ANOTHER FIRST COIN FOR THE YEAR

Being on vacation I'm getting out every morning - Wednesday I went back to the woods where the house had burned down and again I did not find the rumored "buried money" in the back yard.  The only thing I found was a penny in the now over grown driveway.  Then the rains came and ended the day.
Yesterday I went back to where I found my last 2 mercs hunting in the fog.  I found a wheat penny and clad then went to the nearby church where I found my first Rosie for the year along with 2 more wheat pennies and clad.  So far this year I'm doing well finding clad nickels.  I've tripled my finds from last year - I hope I can dig up a gold ring in place of the nickel.

COUPLE OF FIRST FOR THE YEAR

I'm on vacation this week so I've been getting out in the mornings to do some detecting.  Monday was a slow day finding just a little clad.  Yesterday - a much better day going on the road and I found a couple of firsts for the year - and Indian head penny and V nickel.  I also found 2 wheat pennies and over 3 bucks in clad.  Today not sure where I'm going but I would like to get out again.

EASTER SILVER

On good Friday I met up with T and tried a couple of spots.  The first area T had found a large cent before but we found little, T did find an old button.  The second spot was a park by T's house where had found 3 Indian head pennies - all in the 1800's.  No such luck - I did manage a wheat penny and clad.
Saturday I went back to a city park where I found clad, a token, I think a musket ball and my oldest coin was a 1940 nickel.
Easter Sunday I tried my wooded area where I had found the 4 large cents this time using a bigger coil.  I hit the area hard but nothing so I hit a park and found 2 mercury dimes, a wheat penny and a nice locket.  My first silver in a while - now I hope I can keep up that trend.
