SILVER WEDNESDAY

I have the rest of the week off so yesterday I decided to hit the park next to T's house. He's been having luck finding Indian head pennies so I wanted to give it a shot. I didn't find any IH's but I did find a barber dime, a war nickel along with 2 wheat pennies and over 5 bucks in clad. The park has been a hot spot lately and I'm sure we will be detecting it some more.

THERE'S GOLD IN THEM PARKS

I hit a local park where I've had some luck previously and I got lucky Saturday finding my first gold ring for the year. It was about 7 inches down and read kind of high on the Makro. Didn't find much else but I'll take a gold ring anytime.
Sunday I traveled a bit to try another park where I've had some luck - this time I ran into another detectorist who also traveled. We talked and I suggested another park close by but neither of us had much luck although I did find a wheat penny. But the gold made up for any lack of coins.

BACK FROM THE TREASURE HUNT

Prizes from the hunt

Well I got back from my first ever treasure hunt yesterday - I got a some nice silver coins as prizes and had some good meals.   Quarters were numbered and used as tokens to determine what you received for finding them. There were a total of 4 hunts - I found quarters in all of them but how some people could find some many was beyond me. The most I found was 6 on one hunt.   T and I did some detecting in between hunts and dinners hitting an old hotel and a couple of parks along with hunting the property.   I only found a wheat penny as did T and more clad. But I had a good time and it was something different. If we go again we will have to do some research of the area as other hunters went out and were finding large cents in the woods somewhere. There are also some old towns before the hotel which I would like to go door knocking and see if I could get permission to hunt some properties. Overall a nice father day weekend.

Saturday was a nice day but I decided to be an extra one more time. How many times will I get a chance to be in a movie, I can always go metal detecting. So there went my Saturday.
Sunday I stayed close to home with the threat of rain - I did manage a wheat penny and some clad before the rains came. It was fun being part of a movie - hopefully I can get another chance.

INTERESTING WEEKEND

Well Saturday started out with rain so I saw an article the night before about a movie needing extras. The building wasn't far away and I always wanted to be an extra so I decided to give it a shot. I was there most of the day and shot a few scenes.
Sunday was nice and I did get out to detect. I managed to find an Indian head penny and buffalo nickel along with clad.
Memorial day again was raining so I went back to the studio to try some more acting. I won't be quitting my day job but had fun and seeing how a movie is made. So overall a very interesting weekend.

FINALLY GOT SOME SILVER

Saturday I met up with T and we hunted the park by his house. He has had good luck there finding a few barber dimes and recently a half cent penny. Though never of us found silver, T found a couple of wheat pennies and I found a V nickel and ring. I also found lots of clad including 5 quarters in the same hole.
Sunday I went to a spot where I had one of my dime trifecta's using the Marko 2. I did manage to find my first silver coin in a while and also a couple of wheat pennies. I'm getting better with the Makro, not digging up as many nails but I really haven't found deep coins with it. Hopefully soon.
