GAVE IT A SHOT

Went back to the park this morning for a couple of hours.  It was windy and cold and the ground was slightly snow covered and muddy but got to get in what hunting I can.  Only found 33 cents - 3-d, and 3 pennies - better than finding nothing.  The days are limited now and it's supposed to be cold all next week - my goal of $300 is looking harder to reach.

RAIN THEN SNOW

The rain came down in buckets yesterday morning then the temperature dropped and the snow began.  Didn't snow much - but still couldn't get out.  Hopefully the wet weather is done and a hunt is in the future - it's just going to be cold. 

WANTED TO GIVE IT A TRY

I was hoping to get out this morning before the rains came but the rain beat me to it.  It was supposed to rain this afternoon but as always the weatherman was a few hours off as it is raining now and I will have to wait.

PARK HUNT

With winter right around the corner, I need to take advantage of the nice days left to get out and hunt.  Went back to my park - the pickings are getting thin.  Started very slow - the first hour no coins then I did manage to find 87 cents - 3,q, 1-d and 2 pennies.  I was beginning to wonder if I was going to get skunked.  Next year I'm going to have to travel as the places that I hit this year have been picked through fairly well.  Tomorrow is supposed to be nice then the rain and cold come in so maybe one more day here then pick and choose the days.  Still would like to hit my goal of $300.

TRIED TO GIVE IT A SHOT

Wanted to try a different place this morning and went to a high school down the road.  Been to this school before but today it was very wet and cold.  I didn't stay long as the ground was also very muddy.  Only found a penny and dog tag.  I will have to wait till around Tuesday and try a park or two - hopefully the ground will be a little drier and the temp a little warmer. 

SLIM PICKINGS BUT FOUND A WHEAT

Gave the school another try yesterday - coins are getting slim but did manage to find a wheat penny - 1941.  My take was 46 cents - 1-q, 1-d, 1-n and 6 pennies for 9 coins.  Going to have to hit some different areas to try and get my goal.

Sold some of my silver finds today - got $31 for the rings and a religious medallion.  I should have asked how many ounces it was - but it's good to know that this hobby is paying for itself.
