OLD SCHOOL AND A NEW PARK
Saturday morning I went back to the school where I found the V nickel and all the wheat pennies. Still hoping to find silver - well I did but not coins - 2 silver rings and almost 3 bucks in clad. I also found wheat penny #145. Wish I could get a silver coin maybe that's next.
Today I hit a new park for me - one in the city. A man walking his dog said the park has been around since 1905. It has 2 ball fields and tot lot area and I will hit it again - the ground though was soggy due the past rain. I managed just under 2 bucks in clad. Overall not a bad weekend. I hope the weather holds out as I plan to take advantage of it. It was also my best nickel weekend finding 9 plus one Canadian.

WEEKEND FINDS AN INDIAN AND WHEAT
It was back to my son's school on Friday - would like to hunt other places but he likes to practice his kicking there. I did manage to find over a buck 60 so I guess it wasn't too bad.
Saturday I hit a couple of houses that were built back in the 1800's. Only found clad at both - 76 cents - not much luck hunting old houses, hope I get better - but I did find an Indian head penny - my second this year at a near by church. It came up as a nickel/pull tab but I'm glad I dug it. Can't get an exact date so I will keep it in the olive oil for awhile and maybe it will work.
Sunday morning back again to the school where I found the V and 9 wheat pennies. Was hoping silver would make a guest appearance but just wheat pennies again - 3 more for a total of 12 in this one area. Also found 3 Canadian pennies and over a buck 30 in clad. I hope there is silver in there since I'm still finding the wheat pennies.

THANKSGIVING HUNT YIELDS V NICKEL
Went back to the school where I found seven wheat pennies taking advantage of the warm weather and hoping to find some silver or old nickels. Well I didn't find any silver but did manage to find an old nickel - a 1904 V - my first this year and second overall. Plus I found 2 more wheat pennies. I hope there is some silver there after finding all wheat pennies and the V. Also found over a buck in clad and ring #21 - junk.

ONE OF MY BETTER WEEKENDS - NEW WHEAT RECORD
Started the weekend hitting a school where I've had luck in the past with silver and wheat pennies. Well today I didn't find any but did find over a buck 60 in clad. The ground was very damp due to the heavy rains on Wednesday.
Sunday morning I hit another school where I've luck with the wheat pennies and still hoping to find silver. I did not find silver but I did manage to find 7 wheat pennies - my personal best. Most were in the 20's and 30's with one being in the 50's. Got to go back - finding this many wheats in a small area there has got to be silver.
The clad count was good finding over $2.80 excluding the zincs. Found 5 nickels as I set the discrimination down since I was finding the wheat pennies - maybe hoping to caught a buffalo but no dice. Also found a canadian penny plus some junk keys, kiddie badge and a drum.

QUICK HUNT IN THE WOODS
My son wanted to try his new football holder so we headed to his school. While he practiced I hit the woods. I found my shovel I didn't know I lost until I wanted to use it and a dime. So it was a decent hunt - at least I wasn't skunked and I found my shovel.
