FIRST SILVER OF THE YEAR

I went and hit the woods this afternoon since the weather is getting better.  I managed 16 cents and my first silver coin for the year - a 1927 merc.  It came out dirty - thought it was a penny until I saw some silver through the dirt.  Going to be nice tomorrow morning then the rains will make a guest appearance - will be hunting early.

AFTER WORK HUNT

My friend T was working on this side of town so we met up and tried a wooded area we hunted before.  He had a new coil and wanted to try it out - he found a nickel - me nothing.  Then we went to a school where I've had luck with silver but the ground was way to wet so we hit a park.  I managed 51 cents and he - nothing.   He had to get back to work so will give it another shot later.

EASTER HUNT

I hit a wooded area on Easter - a quick hunt before the family dinner.  I managed to find a couple of wheat pennies, my oldest so far this year a 1915 and 1930.  I also found a ring but it wasn't silver like I thought.  I will get pictures - still trying to figure out how to use this new system.

SATURDAY HUNT

I met up with a couple of other hunters Saturday - one old- one new and hit a school where I've had real good luck in the past.  Nothing good for me but the new guy found a Washington and barber quarters and my other friend a wheat penny.  I did manage a flat button.  It's a long story but we won't be hunting there anymore - seems some people don't like that fact that we dig on their fields - that's fine - there are other places to hunt and not worth any argument.  But it was a good run while it lasted.  I did find over 2 bucks in clad.  I'm trying to figure out about the pictures - don't like the new system on the computer - I will try to get better with it.

The weather wasn't the greatest but good enough to go out and try a wooded area where I've had luck in the past.  No old coins and only clad - at least I wasn't shut out.  Been a slow start to the season - winter just doesn't want to go away and finding spots is getting harder.

SUNDAY HUNT

The temperature was nice so I decided to try the woods for a detecting.  The snow was a little deeper than I thought - found nothing but it was good to just get out.  Old man winter just doesn't want to leave yet - hopefully it's the end of the storms and now wishing to see warmer days. 

WINTER NOT GIVING UP

Well just got hit this morning with more snow - looks like old man winter wants to stick around a little while longer.  Hoping he would make his exit but he's being stubborn as always.  The temp isn't too bad just the snow on the ground.  The weather isn't supposed to improve much over the week - will have to play it day by day.
