NO SILVER TODAY BUT LOTS OF CLAD

It's getting harder to find spots so I had to travel - met D about 45 minutes away then ended up over an hour from home.  We hit some parks and a school - I did find 5 wheat pennies but some of the dates are hard to read so they are soaking.  I also had my best single coin day of the year finding 39 coins and over 3 bucks in clad. Also found a coin/token - will let is soak.
My friend D has an E-trac to my safari - either the e-trac is a more superior detector or I'm doing something wrong.  D found 2 times as many coins as I did basically hitting the same areas.  I may be swinging too fast since I normally use a DFX which is much lighter and you can swing it faster.  I will have to try and slow my tempo down.  Will post wheats later.
Update on the coin/token - it is a coin a Canadian penny - date 1915 it's soaking now and hope to get a picture of it later.

MOTHER'S DAY SILVER

I hit a couple of places where I have found silver lately.  The first spot only yielded a couple of wheat pennies and clad.  Spot number 2 was better - didn't find many coins but did manage a rosie and wheat penny.  Will post pics and totals later.  The silver roll continues. I forgot a dime and 2 pennies - will add later.

WEEKEND HUNT NETS SILVER

Wasn't feeling the best the past week and weekend but gave it a shot - hunted close to home just in case.   Did manage 2 wheat pennies on Saturday (pics later - soaking) and clad.  Hit a park, school and another park.
Sunday still not feeling great and again stayed close to home but did managed 2 silver dimes and 2 wheat pennies, a 1947 nickel and clad. I also had my best nickel day finding 9. Plus I found my oldest silver this year - a 1918 mercury dime.   I was on vacation the end of the week and got sick - I wanted to do a road trip Thursday but never made it out of the house.  Well my hunts were short but sweet - finding silver just makes the day.

UNDER THE WEATHER

Been a little under the weather the past few days.  I did manage to sneak in some hunts close to home finding a total of 4 wheat pennies and 2 silver dimes.  Will put pics and other details later.

ANOTHER SILVER PLUS WHEATS

Well I went to my friend's K house and he took me to a place where a school use to sit.  We tried the lot and I did manage a mercury and some wheats and a ring - lots of trash.  There is an old church across the street and we ask permission to hunt it - built back in the 1840's but the ground was full of metal - new fill.  Then we hit a canal park but not much there - my friend did find a wheatie and some clad. 
Then we went to lunch at his house and then hit some of his neighbors yards.  Not much just some wheat pennies and clad.  He is still using my DFX - he's loving every minute of hunting he can get.  We'll see what next week holds.

CLAD KIND OF A DAY

I went to a new park where my friend T found a large cent penny.  I just started hunting when a guy approached me and said he was a TH too.  He had an e-trac and joined me in the hunt.  He had been to this park before and found a wheat penny spill.  He found 3 coins but one was a 1908 V nickel.  Me - nothing but clad  and a flat button.  There is a ton of junk in this park but I think there are still some old coins lurking about.  Then I hit a school and again - just clad.
Tomorrow I go back to my friends house and we will hunt some of his neighbors lawns.  This should prove interesting because the houses were built back in the 1800's.  Keeping my fingers crossed.  My friend is loving my DFX.

SILVER STREAK CONTINUES

Got out for a little on Saturday - not exactly the best day being cold and very windy.  I hit the woods and then a school close to home because of the snow pellets mixed with rain.  I did manage a wheat penny.
Today I took a trip to a friends house - the house was built back in the early 1800's - found some wheat pennies and tons on metal.  I was hoping to find that old silver but no such luck.  Then we hit a park close to his house - I did find a merc and more wheat pennies plus over a buck in clad. I plan on taking another trip up that way - maybe next time will be the charm.
