SILVER IS NICE BUT GOLD IS BETTER
Well we got a break here in central New York with the temperature in the 50's and most of the snow gone, D and I went park to a city park. D has been doing well with his new coil and has found lots of silver with it. He found some last week where we both have hunted before and only found wheat pennies. Again today he found silver but I did upstage him and found my first ever gold ring. 10k - almost didn't dig it because of all the bottle caps I was finding but glad I did. I found some wheat pennies and almost another piece of gold - a medal but 14k gold plated. Still over all I can't complain - got out in December and found gold. Nice Christmas gift.

SEASON OVER??
Well this past weekend we got some snow and more on Monday putting a nice few inches on the ground. It may warm up by weeks end but probably not enough to melt where I can get out. So this may be it for this year but it was a good year - will be hard to top but always fun to try.

SUNDAY HUNT - MORE WHEAT PENNIES
I met up with D and we tried the same park as Saturday. Neither of us found much though I managed a wheat penny so D knew of another park down the road. When we got there I hunted this park a couple of years ago not finding much. D said he had found silver there so we gave it a shot. We did find some wheats and toward the end of the hunt D did pull some silver. I was finding deep stuff but no silver. We'll have to hit it again. I will post some pics as soon as I can figure out the new format for pictures on my computer

SATURDAY HUNT NETS SILVER CROSS
It was cold and windy along with snow coming down but D and I tried a park that we have hunted before but not together. He had luck in the past and did again finding 4 silver coins while I found some wheat pennies and a silver cross. We hunted for a few hours before getting some pizza for lunch and warm up a bit.

HOPE TO GIVE IT A TRY
The weather has gotten a lot colder but I hope to get out sometime this weekend for a short hunt. It was in the 50's Wednesday so the ground hasn't frozen yet - I hope. Should be in the low 30's today.

GAVE IT A TRY
The temperature wasn't that bad yesterday so I went out for a quick hunt. I tried a park that had some woods - wasn't expecting to find much and that's what happened. Only found 5 stinkin Lincolns but at least I found something and I did get out. One bad thing about hunting this time of year is that the ground is very muddy - had no problems digging - just dirty. Will have to see how the temps do this week and maybe give it another shot next weekend.
