NEW PARK HUNT - FIRST VIDEO

I hit a new park today - found my first large cent this year - wasn't expecting it but I'll take it. My first you-tube video - lets' see what producers come calling - LOL. I will definitely go back after the rains come - the ground was damp but maybe I could can some deeper hits with the wetter ground. There was a lot of junk but I find a spot where I could hunt without hearing morse code.

I had the day off and I worked at my old school for half the day.   After I finished it was early so I did a quick hunt. Found 2 quarters and not much else. I got in an extra day of hunting - I'll take it. It was nice to see everybody and a little extra money never hurts.

FATHER'S DAY HUNT

The family took my out to breakfast for father's day so that was a nice treat. The weather was acting up - first sunny then rain but I did manage to get a short hunt in. I didn't go far but did find a wheat penny and not much else then the rain with thunder arrived so it was time to go.    At least I spent time with the family and still got to swing the detector - a very good father's day.

I hit a park where I found a silver dime a couple of years ago - again looks promising but did not deliver.   I then went to a school where I've had luck but again - nothing. It's getting harder to find spots - I may need to start knocking on doors.

MOSTLY A CLAD DAY

I went to one of my old spots - wanted to try the 15" coil to see if I could find some deeper coins - I did but they were all clad.   I did find a silver ring - beat up though as it were hit by the lawn mower.   I moved to a different location - I managed to find 2 wheat pennies there along with the usual clad. It got hot so I quit by noon. I'm hoping to try the gold panning soon. Still trying to find spots.

SILVER SATURDAY AND FILM DEBUT

THE ONE FINDING THE COIN THE FILE IS TOO BIG TOO SHOW

I hit a park that I've hit before with D and T. They have both found barber dimes there and yesterday was my turn as I found my first silver there - a barber dime along with 3 wheat pennies and clad.. I brought my handcam and tried to film some. Well I know I won't be winning any academy awards soon but it's not as easy as it seems - plus the sun does make it hard to see the screen. Of course glasses would help too - boy getting old sucks.

I went back to the place where K's daughter found that seated half dollar. Me no such luck - just a wheat penny and little clad. The little soccer players were having games plus it was getting hot so I called it a day.
I'm hopefully going to be trying something new - gold panning. I had my pans with me and I hit a creek just to get the feel of panning. I plan on making a trip soon to Vermont of Pa to give it a try. Of course in NY you can't keep the gold you find so it's go out of state.
