I'm on vacation yesterday and today - so I decided to try some woods where there is some history and I've hit before finding nothing. Well more of the same - found nothing - not one coin. A lot of people party and fish in this area - thought I could at least find a modern coin but the joke was on me. So this place will be off my list.

A LITTLE SILVER
Didn't find much in the way of coins but I did manage to find a war nickel and wheat penny along with the usual clad. So far it's been a nickel type year - 2 v, 2 buffalo and now a war nickel - I'll take it. Got some vacation days coming up so I hope to take advantage of one of them.

A SO-SO WEEKEND
The weather was a little chilly but warm enough to get out and hunt. Not much to speak of - found 6 wheat pennies, a junk ring and clad. But getting out is always fun and with a warm up coming it should be better. Plan on some trips this spring - hope to find that honey hole somewhere.

SLOW - SNOWY WEEKEND
Saturday I tried a park where I've had luck in the past. But no luck that day, just 3 clad dimes. So I tried a wooded area and then came the snow/rain mix. So I called it a day.
Sunday was just snow so no getting out except to work where I had to snow blow the sidewalks. At least I got out one day. Last year my first hunt was April 4th so I can't complain.

THE WEEKEND
I got out this past weekend with the decent weather. Saturday I hit a park and did find a wheat penny and not much else. I then moved to another park and found clad.
Easter Sunday I went to a school and found a couple of wheat pennies and clad. The family had a brunch at my sister in-laws and I hunted the property finding 2 wheat pennies including a 1909 plain. I didn't a chance to hunt much and will have to go back knowing there is some old coins in the ground.

THE WEEKEND
