WEEKEND HUNT

Well I'm still trying out my Makro racer 2 going to a park on Saturday and then a place where I found 3 large cents.  Not much in the way of old coins and less in clad.   I am getting those deep nails and foil still - need to get better at what a good target is.   I will keep trying. 

FIRST SILVER WITH THE MAKRO

I met up with T on Saturday and we tried a couple of parks that have given in the past.  T found a wheat and clad while I just found clad.  I brought T home and hunted a park by his house.  I found a old Canadian penny, wheat and my first silver coin - Rosie with my Makro.  It was about 5 inches down.
Sunday I hit a school where I know there are coins but I've also found silver and wheats.  No luck with the latter but did manage over 5 bucks in clad.  most of the coins weren't deep but I'm getting a better feel and hearing on the tones for coins.  Still found junk deep but hopefully that will change.

SUNDAY WITH THE RACER

Saturday was a complete wash out as it rained all day.  I tried to take advantage of the soaked ground on Sunday again with the Racer 2.  Still trying to get the feel and understanding the sounds the tones.  I did manage a little clad and not much else.  I went to spots where I've had silver finds hoping for the deeper digs.  Still getting the nails and foil deep.  The highlight was finding a Canadian 2 dollar coin.

WEEKEND HUNT WITH THE RACER 2

I got my new racer 2 on Friday and went out bright and early Saturday morning.  I wanted to try some spots that I had found silver and older coins to test the depth but the spots were taken by kids playing ball.  I did hit other (proven) spots but found only clad.  I need to get the tones down between coins and bottle caps. I did find a junk gold plated ring.
Sunday I hit the park - I got a wheat penny and key but not much else.  I need to more practice with the racer before I can give a decent review.

MAKRO RACER 2

I have a new detector on the way.   A makro racer 2.  Seen lots of good things about this detector and can't wait to get it and try it out.

COLUMBUS DAY HUNT

I did get a bit for Columbus day - back to where I found the reale.  I only found 2 coins, a 1910 wheat penny and a clad quarter.  Lots and lots of woods to hunt plus I know it's been hunted by lots of people.  Still there are coins there - just got to get the coil over them. 

A WEEKEND FOR CLOSER

Didn't get any detecting this past weekend due to the fact my Uncle, who was in the Korean war and missing for years was finally identified and return to my family.  The family met Friday night for dinner and the ceremony was on Saturday to lay him to rest.  Though it was a funeral - it was a happy occasion due to the fact that he was found and we now know where he is.   Now we have closer.
