A LITTLE BETTER WEEKEND

Got out for a few hours both days of the weekend - I did manage to finally find some older coins.  Found a buffalo nickel and a couple of wheat pennies along with the usual clad.   I need to find some new spots although Saturday I did try some a new area in the woods.  May not be finding lots of coins but at least I'm getting my exercise in. 

ANOTHER SLOW WEEKEND

Not much to write about again but I did get out to do some detecting.  Saturday I hit the woods where I found my Spanish reale but this time not such luck.  Only found some clad.
Sunday it was raining but I went to the state fair with my daughter - had some good eats.
Labor day I hit a couple of parks - again clad but I did get a silver bracelet under a root.  It is marked "sterling" but looks weird - not sure what it is.

HUNT IN THE WOODS

I met up with T after work and we hunted some woods where I've had luck in the past - no silver but I did get 2 wheat pennies and 85 cents in clad.  T was just there for show - we only hunted a couple of hours.  But it was an extra day of hunting which I'll always take.

A CLAD WEEKEND

Well last weekend I had found silver for the first time in a while and this past weekend - back to reality - all clad.  Saturday I hit a couple of places that D and I used to hunt and had some luck.  The ground is very dry - I will hit these places again once the moisture gets back. 
Sunday I started in the woods finding lots of memorial pennies then I hit a nearby school adding more clad to the total.  I did get over 5 bucks though.

A NICE SILVER WEEKEND

I didn't travel far on Saturday as the wife and I were going to met some friends for lunch so I hit a near by park.  I did manage to find 4 wheat pennies and some clad and an old bus token. 
Sunday was a much better day - I met up with T and he and his wife were staying at a friends camp along lake Ontario.   We went to a park by the camp and both of us hit silver - T found a mercury dime and I found my first 2 quarters of the year - Washington's both in the same hole.  I also found a lot of clad.  So overall not a bad weekend.

BACK FROM VACATION

I went back to the old home town to see my brother and friends and took a needed vacation from work.  I did a little metal detecting but some of the areas I wanted to hunt are now posted, gone or unable to get to plus a lot of friends have moved or no longer live in town.  My brother did take me to a spot where an old high school used to be, only founding a wheat penny there,  and 1 more, that was it for the trip - and the usual clad.  I do have a couple of more places to try but that will be the next trip.

BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME

This was a weekend to definitely to forget but I did get my exercise in.  I tried a couple of different areas - mainly hiking trails through the woods on both days and didn't find much to speak of.  I did a lot of walking but not many finds - though the stroll through the woods was nice and quiet.  At least it was something different than going to the same old spots and my be places to try again once fall arrives.
