NO SILVER BUT DECENT WEEKEND

I met up with S again and we hit the park where I found my barber quarter. Lightning did not strike twice but I did manage to find 7 wheat pennies while S found silver and wheats. I also found lots of clad including my first dollar coin for the year.
Sunday I hit the road and tried a couple of spots where I've had luck in the past with my new coil. I found a buffalo nickel in each spot plus 1 wheat penny.   I hope to go on vacation this week so I will hit the road again and try some new areas and maybe the water.

FINALLY - SOMETHING TO WRITE ABOUT - A BUCKETLISTER

Saturday was a slow day - I tried a park I've hunted before with some history but didn't find any - just clad. I've never had found anything good there but wanted to give it another shot. There is a creek there, maybe next time I go in the water.
Sunday I met up with S and we tried a park he recommended. He has found some nice jewelry there before but we ended up with clad. Then we went to a park I recommended and S found a mercury dime and a small gold ring. I also found silver - my first ever barber quarter. It's not in the best of shape but I'll take it - it breaks my long silver less streak and I also got a wheat penny. I will be hitting that park again after a nice long rain - the ground is still like a rock plus I ordered a nel thunder coil for the max which should be in this week.

NOT MUCH TO WRITE ABOUT

I've been getting out but haven't found much to really write about. First the weather has been very hot and humid so I haven't been staying out long plus the ground is rock hard which makes it very difficult to dig. I did try a creek but only found a memorial penny. We need a couple of days of a nice steady rain to make the ground bare able again to dig. So here are the results of my last few hunts. I did manage a couple of wheat pennies.

HOT, HUMID WEEKEND

I did manage to get out this past weekend, but it was extremely hot and humid. I only hunted for a couple of hours each morning - I did find a wheat penny and the rest clad. At least I got out, hoping for cooler temps this up coming weekend.

TREASURE HUNT IN THE CATSKILLS

I went to my second treasure hunt at the Blackthorne Resort in the Catskills. This time T and I were determined to get a seated coin or something as old. Well that didn't happen but T had a very good weekend find silver, an IH penny and wheat pennies while I found the usual clad and an old token. T also won a gold coin on the last treasure hunt. I manage winning silver coins and a nice knife and fork set. Overall it was a fun weekend.
