I managed to get out a couple of hours on Sunday - tried some woods in a park. I found 21 cents in clad but it was nice to swing the detector again. Hoping to get out this weekend as the weather will be better.

MANAGED A QUICK HUNT
With obligations and the rain I managed to get out for a couple of hours yesterday trying out my new Simplex + detector. Still need to get use to it but it really hits on targets. I did find an old beat up wheat penny and some clad. But it was just a blessing to detect in January.

SNOW ON THE LONG WEEKEND
Well the snow had to come sometime - just wish it could have waited for another weekend. No school tomorrow but we finally got some measurable snow plus the cold. Figures - I got the new Simplex + detector now I have to wait to use it.

DETECTING IN JANUARY
I was able to get out this weekend in January, the weather has been warmer than average lately. No silver to speak of but did find an Indian head penny and several wheat pennies along with the usual clad. But normal this time of year I'm doing research so I'm not complaining. Plus with the nice weather it's one day closer to spring with the snow.

2020 STARTING WITH BIG SILVER
I went to a local park and detected in the woods. My first good target was a Washington quarter and about 4 feet away I got another nice hit. This time it was a walking liberty half dollar. Not bad for the start of the new year. Plus there's no snow and the temperature is tolerable. Detecting in January for central New York is sweet.

2019 WAS A GOOD YEAR!!
I hope I can continue with the great year I had in 2019. It was my
2nd best silver year - total wise, but my best in the 1800's department
finding 3 seated dimes. I also found a draped bust penny 1798.
On the bucket list this year is a gold coin - half dime and cap bust silver. I did some travel which helped finding some seated and I plan on doing more this year. I made up some business cards which I'm passing out hopefully to make myself more known to people who might lead me to some prime detecting locations. I am looking forward to 2020.
