COOL BUT BETTER WEEKEND

 The weekend started out cool but ended nicely with temps in the 60's.  As for finding anything only wheat pennies and clad.  I need to start branching out to different spots and do some travel.  I will have to get my coin total which I've been slacking on.

FINALLY GOT OUT

 I finally got to do some detecting this past weekend - cold but not too bad.   Saturday I managed some wheat pennies and clad.  Sunday not much in the way of coins and much colder than Saturday along with some snow.   Hopefully next weekend will be a little warmer. 

BACK TO THE PARK

 

I went back to the park where I found my first Indian penny for the year and I managed to find 2 more along with some clad.  1 for sure is in the 1800's and I think the other is too but I can't pinpoint a date yet.  I have been trying to clean them and then I will post some pics.    Still detecting in January - thumbs up!!

STILL DETECTING IN JANUARY

 

 It's the middle of January and I'm still metal detecting.  I manage a hunt last weekend finding my first 1800's coin for the year and some more wheat pennies.  I'm trying to get a date of the Indian head penny but I know it's 18 something.  

I plan on getting out this weekend as the weather is still being nice.  Hopefully I can get some silver.

ON BOARD WITH SILVER - 2021

 

  Well it's the new year and I actually got to detect - No snow in January so far.  I did manage to get on the board with silver finding a mercury dime plus a wheat penny.   I also found a gold plated chain medal.   I'm not sure of detecting today as it has rained a lot and the ground is very wet.  I also found clad.

HAPPY NEW YEAR - I hope this year is better than the last.  I also hope to do a better job of  updating the blog.     Then bucket list this year always starts off with finding gold - jewelry is nice but a coin would be better.  A caped bust silver is always on the list along with a seated quarter or half.  I had a nice silver count last year and hope I can improve on that.  I didn't get to travel like I wanted too but things look to be improving on that.  As long as I can get out and detect - that is what it's all about.
