Well Saturday we headed up north to my family reunion and as usual my Uncle, brother, son and cousin all did the traditional round of golf while I grabbed my detector and went to the local school. I was expecting soft ground but was surprised that the ground was dryer than I thought. The digging wasn't impossible but a lot tougher than here at home. I did manage a wheat penny and silver ring - which I gave to my niece - and clad. And we ate a ton of food and saw family so it was a great day.
Sunday I went to check my hot spot - it was pretty wet so I met D at a park. There were some puddles but we had enough area to detect. I did find a silver quarter, couple of wheat pennies and a ring which I'm not sure if it's gold. Just my luck - can't find the real thing. 14K is in the ring BUT it has a fraction in front of it. I will take it to a friend of mine that deals with buying gold but I can hear it now - IT'S NOT REAL. Overall not a bad weekend finding 2 rings.
