Will up date findings for Thursday and post weekend hunts. I did manage 5 wheat pennies Thursday with T - it was just one of those days - the silver was not to be found. And today hunting same area I find 2 mercury dimes and 3 wheat pennies. What a difference a day makes.
Saturday I met up with a new hunter - J, - I went to his house and he drove around his neck of the woods. We stopped at a school and saw someone outside so I approached him to ask how old the school was. After a brief conversation he let us hunt his land where 2 old house use to stand. But no luck finding anything - then we got permission to hunt an old ball field owned by the fire dept. Found lots of clad but nothing old. We then hit another school - again clad and then my hot spot - J found a rosie and again I was skunked of silver.
This morning I was determined to make up for the silver slump so back to the hot spot. And I did - manage to find 2 mercury dimes and some wheat pennies. Only hunted for a short time as it began to rain and another hunter D called me about a spot where he found a shield nickel, 2 buffalo's and 2 Indians included an 1879. So I met up with him but we managed only clad. The ground is very dry so we will wait until it rains and try it again.
