FIRST WEEKEND HUNT OF THE YEAR

I know it's still January but I had my first weekend hunt for the year.  It's been cold but there's no snow on the ground and it is central NY.  Saturday I went back to the woods - I managed to find 2 pennies.  I also ran into another detectorist we hunted for a bit and I found a nice pocket watch.  Later that day he sent me a text about a group hunt on Sunday in the same area.
Sunday about 6 of us met and we scattered throughout the woods.  It wasn't a good day as nobody found anything but getting their exercise.  But we got out - I guess I'm not the only crazy one hunting in January.
