MY BEST WHEAT DAY
I traveled on Sunday to a new park for me - looked promising on the map but when I got there - first there were guys playing football and second - it looked like the park had been filled. I did hunt next to the tot lot and when I dug - yep filled in dirt - rocks, junk etc. So I hit a spot where an old school had stood and found nothing there.
Monday after spending time with the daughter and son I finally got out to hunt. I hit one of my favorite parks and started out well finding 4 wheat pennies and a zinc. A gentleman I met before came out and asked how I was doing - told him about the wheats and he told me what he had found - barber quarters and an Indian. So I hit an area I barely hunted before - I was hitting wheat after wheat and some clad. I was hoping a silver popped in but no such luck. I ended the day with 10 wheat pennies - a new record for me. I will hit this spot again - maybe some silver will show up. Also found a 1942 nickel.

HAD A GOOD MONDAY
Sunday wasn't a good day but Monday was much better - will have more details when my wheat pennies get done soaking and I can get a picture of them. I was hoping to get silver in the mix but no dice.

SATURDAY HUNTS
After the morning rain I had to get out and try a couple of schools with the nice wet ground. My first school I have hit many times and tried a different field. I did manage a silver dime (Rosie) and a couple of wheat pennies. That was with my safari going across the field. Then I tried my DFX - once I remembered how to use it - up and down the field. Didn't find as many coins but did find my quarters with it. Found a lot of pennies - they were deep around 6 - 7 inches down so I thought I would have found more wheat pennies but not the case. Then I hit my hot spot with the DFX and found a wheat penny - kinda deep - the ground had a very hard surface - thought it would have been softer but seems the rain got soaked up.

HOT SPOT KEEPS ON GIVING
I tried my hot spot again for about an hour yesterday and had some good luck. Managed to find another silver quarter and 2 more wheat pennies. That's the 7th silver coin I've found there. The coin were about six inches deep. Really liking the safari - just got to get use to the tones. Also found a penny.

A RAINY SUNDAY
Didn't get a chance to get out Sunday - was hoping to hit a friend's house but the rains came as I was going to meet her. Then it just never quit. We could use this soaking rain though - should make the ground better for hunting.

THURSDAY AND SATURDAY HUNTS
I met a friend of mine on Thursday and he had a spot where they dug up around a pool but it was fenced off. It was also a spot where there use to be an old school house - my friend has found silver in the past but we both had no luck. Did find a little clad.
Today I hit another school this morning - had luck with the clad and some wheat pennies - found silver in the past but again - not today. I hit another school - found a wheat and some clad. I managed to find the wheat penny I lost - in was in my pouch but a different pocket. Also found half a wheat penny - the back is ok but no front - weird. Almost 4 bucks in clad.
