I met T on Tuesday to try the woods where I found my latest large cent - by the time we got there and started to hunt it was time to get out of the woods and leave. It just got dark - FAST! Needless to say we didn't have a lot of time to metal detect. My hunting now is going to have to be on the weekends. Can't stand this time of year - then soon enough it's back to maps and research. I don't want a ton of snow but enough to get the tall weeds to lie flat so come spring I can hit some different areas and swing the detector.

BACK TO THE WOODS
Even with the snow and cold I haven't given up yet - I'll be hunting till the ground is rock hard and it's way too cold to go out. Glad I am because I went into the woods yesterday and found my 3rd large cent coin. The only find for the day but I'll take it. This is my 7th 1800 coin this year - a new record for me. I was hoping to find a silver along with the LC but no luck. Will have to go back and try it again this weekend.

FRIDAY HUNT
With the day off I got a chance to hunt before the snow and cold weekend - but the rain came which ended my detecting short. I was going to met T at a park that has some history to it but he got called in to work. I could only manage clad then had to quit with the downpour. We will give it another shot some other time.

SHORT HUNT AFTER WORK
I met my friend T at a place where I've had luck in the past. We didn't have a lot of time since it's gets dark much earlier now. My friend managed some wheat pennies and I found a war nickel and a couple of wheats.
This weekend it's supposed to be cold - I hope I can get out one of the days. Winter is coming.

A NICE WEEKEND
It was a nice weekend both weather wise and metal detecting. It was nice and sunny - not too cold - the metal detecting I found silver and wheat pennies. I tried the woods on Saturday - finding 2 wheat pennies and some clad. Sunday I found a silver quarter and 5 wheat pennies along with some clad.
I work only 3 days next week with the Thanksgiving holidays so I plan on taking advantage of the time off. The snow is around the corner - just don't know when - got to get out when you can.

VETERAN'S DAY HUNT
I met up with my friend T on Monday and he wanted to try a new area to hunt. It looked promising - the area had some good history to it but it wasn't what we expected. I did manage a clad quarter there then we tried a place that I knew where a old church had been - the foundation is still there but the weeds were too high - couldn't swing the detectors so we tried a park where I've had luck with silver. We found no silver but I did find a wheat penny and .76 cents. We may give it another shot this weekend.
